My parents were drug addicts. My sister was murdered by her boyfriend (shot in the head 4 times) All of my old friends were either dead or in jail. Several times I faced death and survived; I thought I was just lucky.
Seven years ago, my daughter died of skeletal dysplasia at the age of 8 months. This devastated me and I turned to drugs for solace.
Two years ago I woke up with a severe headache from the night before after partying hard with cocaine and alcohol.
I went to the store for breakfast I ran into a guy who used to sell me drugs. He looked happy and was glad to see me. He started to tell me how God changed his life when He got saved eleven years ago. He invited me to his church.
My mind tried to wrap around how with all the traffic in my town and all the stop signs and lights, what would be the chance that I would run into this man from my past at this moment?
It had to be God. It was ironic that the very man who dealt me the darkness of drugs was the one leading me into the light.
Things did not change overnight for me. I struggled with my addictions for a while.
Today, I am saved, clean from drugs and living a life for God.
But through it all, I realize that God had his hand on my life. I was lost, but now I am found, because I started looking for Him.
