“They word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Ps. 119:105
Today’s Christian Daily Devotional
What a simple verse. Sometimes people avoid the Bible, because they claim it can be too difficult to understand. But Jesus said, unless you come to Him like a little child, salvation would not be possible. Christ would not expect the concept of salvation (and the wonderful teachings of His Word) to be so exclusive that ONLY the highly educated could “get it”. If we remain humble, and open our hearts, we have the chance to be changed forever. Is your life lacking direction? Are you unsure of where you are going, and even WHY you are heading that way? Stop. Take a moment to choose your destiny, because that is exactly what this life is all about. God gave each one of us free-will to decide what kind of life we will live on earth, AND our eternal destiny after this life. But, once you cross over death–there are no second chances to change those decisions. If you know in your heart, you need to change, don’t shove that thought aside and wait for that conviction to go away. That “tug” in your heart is God. He wants you to make the choice that will lead you to an eternity with Him. Are you willing to gamble and see if you have another breath in you, or are you ready to meet death (whenever it comes) with the confidence of knowing you have already made your choice, and you are not going where the devil wants you to?
“Dear Heavenly Father,
If your Word is a light unto my feet, and a lamp to my life, light me up! I need to see. I am fumbling through this dark world and I am unsure of where I am going, or why I am even moving in the direction I am. I am stopping. I am asking you to lead me. I need you in my life and I realize that I do not want to cross over into eternity without you. I know that I am not perfect, I have so many things in my life that tell me that make me unsure of where I will go when I will die. I know that I cannot go there unless I admit that. I accept Jesus, who died in my place on the cross, into my heart. I know that without Him there would be no hope for me. Lord, I believe in the miracle of Him rising again after 3 days defeating death and the god of this world, satan. I want that same kind of victory in my life. Stamp out the “death” that I feel everyday. Baptize my spirit with the Holy Ghost so that I can have the power to live in victory and the sense to pull others out of the pathway that is leading them into the darkness that I came from. In Jesus’ precious name, thank you for saving me, Amen.”
