“The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him.” 1 Chron. 16:9
Today’s Christian Daily Devotional
Take a moment to read that verse carefully one more time. When I saw this little gem of a verse, I could not contain myself. God is looking to express Himself through people! For those who wonder what they were born for—search no longer! You were born for GOD. I can picture the piercing eyes of God. He can see through anything and is looking past the surface of the skin and into the hearts and motives of the men and women roaming the world He created. As His penetrating gaze searches the earth with a desire to find His precious and hidden treasure; His heart leaps with joy as He looks upon a broken soul. This human treasure has gone unnoticed by the world around her. Because this woman is not particularly talented, beautiful, eloquent or sophisticated in the eyes of the people who surround her, she has been overlooked and unappreciated. But, God is looking at her heart. He sees that through that pain, she is searching to serve Him. She desires for her life to count for something and she is willing to be used by God. You see, God is looking for those that are truly searching to please Him.
You see, God (in all His goodness) has mercifully chosen to bless man with the power of free-will. We, as humans, can choose to serve anybody or anything that we want to. That is God’s gift to human kind. Because of the option to choose which way we will go (and who we will serve), the world is suffering from much pain and chaos. This was not God’s idea; but the result of many wrong choices (that God clearly warns of in His word). Like a mother, (who always knows the thoughts and needs of her child before they are even formed into a sentence) God anticipates to meet the needs of His children that are hungry to serve Him. And like any good parent, God doesn’t just want to give us the minimum—He wants to bless! Doesn’t that make you want to bless Him right back?
“Dear Heavenly Father,
I know that I have always been looking and searching for signs of you, but I had no idea (until I read 1 Chor. 16:9), that YOU were looking for ME! As I sit with that amazing truth and allow it to heal my insecurities, I thank you from the bottom of my soul. I am glad that you do not have the same value system as the world does. I want to pray upon the hearts of men and women all over the world that are looking for you. I pray when they discover how much you love them; they will hunger to serve you with all their heart. I know that this will only bring blessing and honor to their lives. The positive changes in their lives will speak to the world that God cares about touching each human on a very real and very personal level. I pray blessing and to all those who feel lost in this world. I pray they find their place in this world—God’s resting place. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.”
