“He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for the wonderful works to the children of men.” Ps. 107: 20-21
Today’s Christian Daily Devotional
The word of God is so powerful that it can heal. I have witnessed this transformation in my own life. I have heard many people laugh to me that Jesus is only for criminals and prostitutes who are weak enough to not become strong on their own. In many respects—they are right! God heals anyone who is humble enough to rely on His word, and His Son, Jesus for salvation. Anyone too proud to accept those wonderful, powerful gifts is missing out on the greatest chance to turn their lives into something amazing and joyful. What a sad thing it is to watch so many people search for fulfillment, and when you give them the solution–Jesus, they turn Him down for fear of what other’s may think of them.
I have one question for those: “In the scope of eternity and the fulfillment of your own personal happiness, does any one else’s opinion really matter?” I hope not. If Jesus is the strength that pulls many hurting people out of lifestyles and addictions that they could never do on their own—I am not too proud to ask for that kind of power in my life. In all respect, please—BRING IT ON!
“Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your word. Thank you for delivering me from my own destruction. Thank you that you can take a vile person like myself and change me so much that I can barely remember the days when I served the devil with no conscience of you. Lord, grant mercy to those that want something better for their lives, but just do not understand or see their need for you. Your word had the power to heal, and those that need it the most mock and laugh and refuse to read it. Your word has the ability to save the human race from it’s own destruction, and the more any country or nation or people turn their eyes away from it, the more damnation and sorrow they bring upon themselves. Lord, this is not your will. You designed man with a good plan in mind, but our hearts crave to believe the lie that we know better than God and that we can dig ourselves out of our own pit. Give those that have chosen to go your way a resolve to not turn back on that good choice, even when the going gets rough. Open the hearts of those who once thought they could do it all without you to see that they can’t. Let them be healed by your word and the salvation of your Son. In Jesus’ precious name, all for you, Lord. Amen.”
