“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints; To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Col.1:26-27
Today’s Christian Daily Devotional
My whole life I have suffered from low self-esteem and deep insecurities. After I asked Jesus Christ in my heart, I noticed a gradual (not sudden) change. I started to look in the mirror and see hope. That may not sound like a lot to you, but for someone who was struggling with finding my purpose and seeing my potential, that was a LOT. As read the word, and grow in understanding just what it means to be “reborn” and a child of God, I can see Christ changing me for the better everyday. I will never be Christ, but knowing He lives inside of me, sure makes me feel pretty good!
“Dear Heavenly Father,
I love that I am changing. Everyday I feel myself slowly growing out of my former shell of insecurity. It has taken time, and there has been a lot of pain in the process, but I am thankful for it! I needed change. I was stuck in a rut and on a fast track to a bad place. And, although it was not easy taking that first leap of faith when I came to you, you have not let me down since! Thank you for being so good to me, for being the kind of friend who was up for the challenge of taking care of such a mess. Please continue to remind me of where I came from, so I can always feel encouraged when I am walking down your path, and am afraid of where that will take me. You will not lead me into the dark places I have put myself in in the past. I trust you, help me to trust in you more everyday. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.”
