“For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous; but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” Ps. 1:6
Today’s Christian Daily Devotional
Look around you today. What do you see? I see a world that celebrates evil. I see people that enjoy getting away with as much debauchery and dishonesty as they can. I see many people laugh at how far they can push the limits of the law, of morality and civility, just because…they think it is amusing and fun to be marked as a “rebel”. Does this bother you? It breaks my heart as I read Psalm 1:6. I know, just from looking around me, that there are more people that love wickedness than righteousness; and that is just a foreshadow of the ones who will eternally perish. (I did not say it, the Bible did.) This is not something to laugh at. This is something to drop down on our knees and pray over. For a bit of encouragement after this sobering reality, if you have been living a life of righteousness and if you value justice, God has been watching you as well. He sees the struggles that you have to overcome to stand up for what is good and right. God has also mentioned numerous times throughout His word, the rewards He has in store for all those who are determined to follow His will. The blessings are more than any simple human can wrap their little brains around, so don’t loose heart!
“Dear Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on the ones that are in sin and enjoying it today. We know, the enjoyment of sin will only last for a season. Show these deceived ones in visions and dreams what they will reap tomorrow from the sins that they are sewing today. Show them before it is too late, and give them a fear of God that will strengthen them to turn from their sin and never turn back to it. Lord, for those of us who are discouraged, please lift our hearts up and give us hope. Show us visions and dreams of the good things that are around the corner for choosing your ways. Not to be our major motivation (because should be motivated by our love and thankfulness to you) but for our hope and encouragement. Lord, until we see your face, allow us to feel your presence. Guide us in all we do, for our only goal is to please you. In Jesus’ precious name, all for being just a little bit more like you, Amen.”
