“Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you with a petition from the heart. I have searched my heart and motives, and I ask that you bring to my attention anything that is not of you.
You said in your Word that “He that findeth a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” I would love to be the precious ruby for a man in Honorable standing with you.
For you said it is not good for a man to be alone. Somewhere, out there is a lonely Spiritual Warrior looking for a helpmate to be equally yoked. I ask that you prepare the heart of the one that you created for me. Please direct his footsteps so our paths will cross. Help me to keep an open heart and mind to what YOUR desires are for me, (as I already have a clear cut list.), and have the Holy Spirit that lives with in me whisper when the one that you prepared for me is there.
For you said in Sam 16:7 “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at, man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” Jephovah-jirah, you are the Lord of provision. Provide me with the Godly insight to look for the right things. I humble myself before you and place you first in my life. I am preparing to submit myself to the next authority figure, my husband. For it says in Eph 5:22 “Wives submit yourselves to your husbands as to the Lord.”
I am taking my pride and self-will and asking you to work it out of me. Replace those ugly traits with the traits of a beautiful helpmate. Please make me humble, soft spoken, slow to anger, gentle, meek and kind. In today’s world, these qualities are not a popular request; but I have searched your word I know that these are the qualities of a good wife. I want to be that kind for wife for your sake, and for my future husband.
I have repented of the ungodly relationships from my past and ask that you break any ‘soul ties’ that may have formed. Heal the wounds of my past sins, as they were curses I put upon my own body. Please create a healthy foundation for the future that you have for my family.
My deepest desire is that the head of my household is the spiritual leader of our home. It is important that he be nothing less, because Heavenly Father I love you so much. I cannot submit under an earthly man that does not submit to his spiritual responsibilities; and therefore, does not submit to you.
Please put your hand of blessing on my head as I kneel before you. “An excellent wife is the crown of her husband.” Prov 12:4
Jehovah-shalom, you are the God of peace. Please breathe into my lungs a calm and peace. Help me to completely trust in you and your perfect time. For I “Know all things work together for good to those who are called according to his purpose.”
Thank you for all you are. Help me be all I can for you. Amen.”
