“Lord, My parents are only human. They’ve made many mistakes and I’ve shown them no mercy; I’ve held much against them.
Help me to forgive as you’ve forgiven me. Heal my wounds with the power of your love, so I can be and give what they cannot.
Take all my pain and use it to relate to the hurt in others, including my parents. I release all bitterness, resentment, anger and un-forgiveness to you.
When the enemy presses in, remind me what you endured so we could be in relationship. Fill me with the joy of the Lord.
Bless me with a peace that passes all understanding, a love like Christ that will reconcile hearts to you.
Let your mercy flow to me for it is greater than my capacity to receive. I promise to give from the overflow.
In Jesus’ name and for His glory, Amen.”
