“Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the family you have blessed us with. I know the family unit is a gift from you. Our family is in turmoil right now and I ask that you bless each member with wisdom and humility to come to you for help.
As a parent in this family, I know I am responsible for what happens in our family life. I am not perfect, and I give my struggle and disappointment with myself to you. I cannot lead this home correctly if I do not do it your way.
I admit that I and _______________ have made a lot of mistakes. Show us a reflection of our hearts. Show us how we can help each other instead of hurt each other. Lord, you know all of our family member’s needs and every desire of our hearts.
We want peace, love and joy to fill our home. You did not die on the cross and suffer for us to suffer here on earth. Lord, we are unsure of why we end up hurting the very people we love. Please bless us with the ability to look past our past.
Give us the gift of forgiving each other and from releasing them from past offenses. Have this forgiving attitude rub off on our children so they will not repeat the same mistakes we have made. Make us sensitive to each other and not sensitive to only our needs. We are separated because of the past, but by the grace of God please find a way to unify us again.
Bless us despite our transgressions. We know that all things work together for good to them that love God. God, help us to love you and bless each other. Help us to love each other the way that you instructed in your Word. In Jesus precious name, Amen.”

If you or someone you know is being abused in any way, do not recommend using prayer as a substitute for getting help. We, at shalombewithyou.com recommend prayer in addition to getting help. Reach out to someone safe who will assist you in protecting yourself. If you notice someone else who is being abused, seek guidance on how to help that person from a certified abuse counselor.
