“Dear Heavenly Father,
You said in your word that those who love you will obey you. You promised that you would be their God and they would be your people. I want you to be my God. I do not just want to say you are my God with words, but in action. I know this calls for obedience.
Lord, sometimes when I read your word it gets overwhelming for me. I feel like I can never be “good enough”, so I have stopped trying. Lord, I give all my “trying” to you. My feeble efforts must be given to you.
Lord, help me to abide in Christ so I can do whatever you call me to do with power. I need the supernatural anointing of God Himself to help me to obey not only the word of God, but also the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
Lord, keep my ears sensitive to your still, small voice. Help quiet my heart and my restless soul so I can better understand your directions. As you lead me out of confusion, into the light of your Word help me to have a supernatural understanding of it. As the seed of your word is planted in my heart, warm my heart with your love. This love will nurture the hardness of my heart and create a ground that is conducive for growth. Water that seed with your Holy Spirit. Soak each Bible verse I read with your Spirit, so that I have complete revelation and understanding of it.
Lord, anoint my feet to walk in your ways. Guide them to only be drawn to the activities that invite your presence, not repel it.
In the name of Jesus, I bind the spirits of rebellion, the ahab spirit, the jezebel spirit, defiance, rage, hate, loathing, seething, un-forgiveness, bitterness, resentment, rebellion against authority and anger at God to the spirit of balak.
Lord, cover me with the kind of wisdom that can only come from you. I need your wisdom to have the kind of life Jesus died to give me, and in His name, I claim every good thing that God created me for. Thank you for the gift of obedience. I will walk in it and guide my family to walk in it so our future generations can have the blessings of obedience. Amen.”
