“Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for all the opportunities of employment that you have provided for me in the past. I know in your Word that is says you will supply all my needs according to your riches in glory. Right now, I admit my faith is wavering as my job situation does not look good.
Sometimes trials come because you are trying to teach your children something. Lord, if there is a lesson to be learned here, please light my eyes to see and learn from this struggle. Help me to rely on you and you alone.
Open my eyes to see a hidden talent or an opportunity that may be in my face that I am not tapping into. Bring people into my life that can help me, and that I can help.
As you open these new doors, close the ones that are stopping me from growing up in you. Give me the strength to never compromise so I can keep my testimony clean and pure for you.
Lord, I know that there is MY job out there…the perfect one that you have set aside for me. When I interview, open the hearts of the people that are making the hiring decisions to see me and only me as fit for that position. When I start to work, let the joy of knowing that you created and secured that position JUST FOR ME, give me all the energy I need to do the job so well that pay increases happen without me asking for them.
Lord, until that time, please provide all my family’s needs for food, shelter and clothes. When this dry season passes, as I know it is a temporary set-back, let it always be a part of who I am so that I am thankful from the bottom of my heart everyday that I am provided with a job to do.
Help keep this pain fresh in me so I can have empathy for others that will be going through what I am dealing with right now. Give me a chance to turn them to the hope I have in you, and use my new job as a testimony that will bring inspiration.
In Jesus’ precious name, allow me not only to work for the physical needs of my family, but give me the strength to provide leadership for their spiritual needs as well. Help me and my family’s struggle to become a testimony of victory, I give this trial to you! Amen.”
